General Information

Below are a few points to keep in mind with reference to how we can help you come up with solutions to suit your needs and your living space.

YES! We make to order!

If you've been shopping around for a particular piece of furniture for a while, and just cannot find what you're after, then drop into one of our showrooms, give us a call or send us an email and we'll be happy to help you have it custom made, from design to delivery.

If you see an item in one of our showrooms (or on this website within the relevant showroom galleries) you're also more than welcome to purchase our floorstock.

Please note that if email is your preferred option for getting in contact with us, we strive to be back in contact with you within 2 working days, although this is not always possible - if you haven't heard from us within a week, then something must be wrong, so give us a call and we'll be happy to handle your enquiry.

Timber Availability

Our furniture is unique because our timbers are unique. Unlike many other furniture manufacturers, we like to source more interesting raw materials. Australia is home to some of the most dense, beautiful hardwood species in the world - we like to highlight this in our furniture.

There can be amazing variations in colour, tone and grain structure, even within a single species - we predominantly source our timber from private properties across many regions throughout NSW and Victoria.

Around 95% of the timber we use is recycled from old buildings or salvaged from dead trees. These trees have usually come down in storms or fallen victim to droughts, floods and even fire.

Above all, we don't like the idea of cutting trees down to make furniture - we prefer to utilise timber from trees when they've died of natural causes. It's more environmentally friendly to create beautiful furniture from the timber, rather than it be cut for firewood - a focus that we're passionate about.

If you're thinking about having that perfect piece custom made, don't hesitate to contact us to get an idea of the timber we have available at any given time.

Ordering Process

The steps involved in ordering a special piece of furniture from us are as follows:

  1. Enquiry - we can help you come up with a design that will suit your living space and accommodate your various needs.
  2. Quotation - once you're happy with the design (your own, or one of ours) and have selected your desired timber species, we can provide a quote for you to have your item custom-built.
  3. Approval - if you'd like to make any last-minute changes, now is the time to let us know! Once we know you're happy with the design and quote, we can quickly let you know what bearing these changes might have on price.
  4. Deposit - we require a 30% deposit on all custom orders, with the balance payable prior to us releasing the furniture for delivery. We are happy to provide photos of the finished product prior to you paying the balance if you're unable to come and see the items first-hand. If you're interested in an item we have in stock, we usually require payment in full - we're happy to hold it until you're ready for delivery.
  5. Construction - for more specialised items, we will usually remain in contact during construction, and let you know as soon as the furniture is complete.
  6. Delivery - we can arrange this to most areas in Australia, however, to smaller, outlying areas, we may ask you to help us find a local carrier or removalist who runs a regular shuttle to your nearest major city.

Lead Time

Assuming we have the necessary timber in stock to create your ideal piece, our lead time generally floats between 3 and 6 weeks. We can advise on current lead times when you make an enquiry.

If you need something made by a certain date, please let us know and we'll certainly do our best to accommodate.

Access and Delivery

Before we begin construction, we need to know what access is like into the room where the furniture is going, particularly with larger items. If you're after a large dining table, entertainment unit, sideboard, wardrobe or wall unit, you'll need to consider things like stairs, narrow doors and hallways, corners and elevators to ensure we can arrange delivery for the item.

Carriers will also charge extra if they have to send more than 2 guys out to deliver a particular item to your home. Having a couple of good friends, neighbours or relatives available to help take delivery can be a good way to save a few dollars on a large item.
