We have a strong background in furniture retailing (30 years) and we've now been manufacturing for over twenty. Over this time we've evolved, and reinvented ourselves numerous times. Our craftsmen have more than 50 years combined experience building and finishing handcrafted furniture.
We use Australian hardwood timbers exclusively. Australia is blessed with the biggest and most beautiful range of hardwood timbers in the world and we're passionate about making beautiful furniture from old eucalypt timbers.
Approximately 90 to 95% of the timbers we use have either been salvaged from old dead trees on local properties or recycled from old buildings. We primarily deal with small portable timber mill operators who mill up old logs on private properties. Sourcing our timber this way means that we have considerable variation in appearance and this can be within the one species. Timber that has been harvested from large forests has a lot more consistency in colour and appearance. This of course adds to the special-ness of what we offer, every piece of furniture we make really is a unique item.
Each piece made by us has been individually made by one of our skilled craftsman and each piece can be tailor made to suit your exact requirements, in fact that's what we specialise in doing.
We construct our furniture using a combination of some traditional methods such as mortise and tenon joins along with modern techniques involving the use of modern glues and hardware.
Dining Tables, our dining tables in particular will be around for generations. Why ? Because we use tough, durable timbers that are predominately Australian eucalypts. Combined with our very durable and practical oil and wax finish ensures a very long life in the toughest of conditions.
