In Australia the different eucalypt species like to
go in certain areas of the country for reasons that I'm not
able to explain. Certain sub-species of 'boxes'
such as yellow, grey, and white in particular seem to
like to grow in some pretty tough and harsh conditions such
as where there is isn't good rainfall and temperatures get
pretty hot and then freezing cold in winter. This seems to
create a timber that is very hard and dense. So much so
that I'm of the opinion that when a wine glass is put down
on a table like this one, you can almost hear a
'clink' as if it was being place on marble. Yes
perhaps I might have consumed one too many of the contents
of that glass but I'm sticking with that story anyway.
