When we use the term 'salvaging timber' it means that we have dead gum trees on private properties cut up to be turned into beautiful pieces of furniture. If we didn't utilise timbers like this they would just be cut up for firewood and what a waste that would be. And sadly that is what still is happening to so much good quality wood out on the farm lands around the country.  But for many years that was the only use for these timbers before these amazing portable saw mills were invented.
