This stunning looking table that we have previously made from all timber,  was in this instance made with a metal base in a galvanized finish.
This base can also be created with a more 'forged' look that has the hand beaten markings visible. 
Another finish option is powder coating in the colour of your choice but it's hard to go past matt black.
