Blackbutt

Blackbutt is large to medium forest tree that grows extensively along the east coast of Australia. The colours of blackbutt vary within the frame of brown tones ranging from blondes, to medium browns, darker browns to a slightly reddish tone. Blackbutt gets its name from the darker coloured bark around the base of the trunk. Blackbutt and other species closely related are used extensively for flooring and stair treads in Australia.
